Position: Behavioral Health Navigation Manager
Status: Full-time, exempt
Location: Hybrid to Boston, MA or Remote; preference for candidates in New England.
Compensation: $80,000-$110,000
Who we are:
The Intent Clinical offers a continuum of services to guide individuals and families through the behavioral health industry by providing concierge-level care, identifying suitable treatment and aftercare options, and assist in creating and implementing sustainable recovery plans. We help address the needs of those struggling with behavioral health issues including substance use disorders, mental health issues, eating disorders, and mood and personality disorders. We also support individuals on the autism spectrum, aging adults with dementia and young adults who are struggling with transitions to independence.
Who you are:
You are collaborative and organized and have excellent oral communication and writing skills. You have experience in the mental health and behavioral health industry and a keen understanding of its treatment landscape. You have clinical understanding and experience working with individuals with various mental health challenges. You are an empathetic individual who believes in our mission of helping our clients through life’s most uncertain moments so that they can heal and thrive. You have an innate desire to improve the lives of those who have behavioral health conditions that have impacted their lives and are passionate about imparting hope, invigorated through the building of connections, and enjoy a good challenge. What you’ll do:
- Manage all aspects of external placements for our clients, including:
- Collecting all relevant clinical history from client, family members, and any external providers.
- Gathering and reviewing clinical documents such as psychiatric or educational assessments.
- Discussing treatment placement considerations (e.g. geographic, financial, clinical) that will be important to the client and their supports.
- Creating a written report outlining important information on 3-4 treatment placement recommendations.
- Call to review and discuss treatment options with Client and Supports; and facilitate admission to agreed-upon program or treatment center.
- Develop rapport with clients throughout the placement process and direct them to additional IC support services following discharge from the chosen facility.
- Support business development in creating new clinical partnerships, nurture existing relationships, visit treatment centers, attend conferences and/or networking events.
- Visit 1-2 treatment centers quarterly (both locally and nationally.)
- Schedule 20 meetings each month with treatment providers and/or centers
- Closely collaborate with varying members of our staff who require the expertise of the Behavioral Health Navigation for external referral processes, helping clients and our direct care staff access relevant resources, and managing outgoing client referrals.
- Work with the Behavioral Health Navigation Specialist in following client journeys in order to track satisfaction and outcomes, and increase the number of services utilized following a placement.
- Provide back-up to the intake department
- Participate in the on-call rotation.
- Manage and grow the treatment directory.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Mental Health
- 5+ years of experience in behavioral health.
- A keen understanding of mental health diagnoses and the treatment landscape nationally.
- An innate desire to support people who have been impacted by behavioral health challenges.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, high-volume, and results-driven environment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team.
- Ability to think big-picture while remaining detail-oriented and organized.
- Comfort and quick learning curve with technology on day-to-day tasks (i.e. Microsoft Office, Salesforce)
- Clinical Licensure (LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, etc.)
- Account Management Experience.
- Experience working with high-net worth families.
- An understanding of social responsibility and how to contribute positively to the well-being of others.
