Status: Full-time, exempt
Location: Hybrid to Boston, MA or Remote
Compensation: $70,000-$80,000

Who we are:

The Intent Clinical offers a continuum of services to guide individuals and families through the behavioral health industry by providing concierge-level care, identifying suitable treatment and aftercare options, and assist in creating and implementing sustainable recovery plans. We help address the needs of those struggling with behavioral health issues including substance use disorders, mental health issues, eating disorders, and mood and personality disorders. We also support individuals on the autism spectrum, aging adults with dementia and young adults who are struggling with transitions to independence.

Who you are:

You are collaborative and organized and have excellent oral communication and writing skills. You have experience in the mental health and behavioral health industry, fabulous customer service and interpersonal communication skills, and a keen understanding of the mental health treatment landscape. You have clinical awareness and are comfortable speaking with and supporting individuals navigating crises. You are an empathetic individual who believes in our mission of helping our clients through life’s most uncertain moments so that they can heal and thrive. You have an innate desire to improve the lives of those impacted by a behavioral health challenge and are passionate about imparting hope, invigorated through the building of connections, and enjoy a good challenge. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment shaped by moving parts and consistently leverage solution-oriented problem-solving. You are comfortable managing a high volume of calls, placements, and follow-ups tasks and know when/how to prioritize needs. 

What you’ll do:
  • Intake-Related Tasks:
    • Support the Engagement Specialist in fielding incoming calls and opportunities which may include but not be limited to:
    • Talking with families, advisors, individuals, and other referral sources about our services
    • Acting as a liaison for incoming inquiries, coordinating next steps, and following-up to ensure referrals move through the intake process efficiently
    • Answering pricing and other financial questions related to our services
    • Proposing and finalizing staffing options for prospective clients based on the clinical needs
    • Drafting and sending comprehensive proposals to prospective clients that detail the ways in which we can provide services
    • Supporting the Director of Engagement with any intake-related tasks or processes, including following-up with families and referral sources.
    • Initiating and finalizing contract and payment from clients and families signing onto Intent Clinical services.
    • Develop a keen understanding of the range of Intent Clinical staff members available to staff cases and being able to effectively match a case with a staff resource.
    • Be or become an expert in navigating and utilizing Salesforce to pull reports, understand trends, keep track of active leads, and make suggestions for how to continue improving our intake process
    • Ensure that all staff members have appropriate staff profiles created and uploaded to our shared server.
    • Develop rapport with clients throughout the intake process and direct them to additional Intent Clinical support services at varying points in their healing journeys
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with providers at referring treatment facilities.
    • Participate in the weekly on-call rotation.
  • Behavioral Health Navigation-Related Tasks
    • Support Behavioral Health Navigation Manager with external placements, including:  
      • Collaborate with varying team members for external referral processes, helping clients identify individual providers and treatment programs.
      • Develop a written report outlining important information on 3-4 treatment placement recommendations.  
      • Identify and provide multiple, tailored treatment programs and providers based on client needs.
      • Leverage knowledge of behavioral health systems and services to recommend the most appropriate resources.
      • Facilitate connections between clients and suitable treatment providers, ensuring smooth transitions into care where applicable.
      • Build and maintain a network of trusted providers and treatment programs for various behavioral health conditions.
      • Track and monitor post-referral reporting and adjust recommendations as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.
    • Develop rapport with corporate representatives throughout the placement process and direct them to additional Intent Clinical support services following discharge from the chosen facility.
    • Closely collaborate with varying members of our staff who require the expertise of the Behavioral Health Navigation Specialist for external referral processes, helping clients and our direct care staff access relevant resources, and managing outgoing client referrals.
    • Support business development in creating new clinical partnerships, nurture existing relationships, visit treatment centers, attend conferences and/or networking events.

What you’ll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in behavioral health.
  • A keen understanding of mental health diagnoses and the treatment landscape. 
  • An innate desire to support people who have been impacted by a behavioral health challenge.  
  • Ability to discuss sensitive topics with families including finances and associated costs
  • Experience working in call centers or customer service-related setting 
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, high-volume, and results-driven environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a team.
  • Ability to think big-picture while remaining detail-oriented and organized. 
  • Comfort and quick learning curve with technology on day-to-day tasks (i.e. Microsoft Office, Salesforce)
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to prioritize and re-prioritize throughout the day
  • A solutions-focused attitude with a collaborative ‘no-task too small’ attitude
You ideally have:
  • A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or a similar field.
  • Intake/Admissions and/or Sales Experience.
  • Experience working with high-net worth families.
  • Demonstrated engagement in community service initiatives, particularly those focused on underserved communities.
  • An understanding of social responsibility and how to contribute positively to the well-being of others.
